The Jaguar Drivers Club of the Hunter Region put on their All British Day this past Saturday, the 30th of July. Our Newcastle friends in the LOST Fraternity joined in, and have kindly shared some shots from the day.
Letting You Know about the Lugarno Lions Spring Festival and Classic Vehicle Show
The Lugarno Lions Spring Festival and Classic Vehicle Show will be held on Sunday the 18th of September, 2016, at Gannons Park in Peakhurst, and should be a lot of fun.
As its name would imply, the event has two sides – a Spring Festival, and the car show. Entry to the car show is open to all interesting cars. It costs $10, which goes entirely to charity. While displaying your car is not mandatory, it enters your car in the judging and provides cheap and convenient parking for the rest of the show.

Entry to the Spring Festival is free. The festival offers great family entertainment including stalls, rides, music and dancing.

Thanks to Brian Caldersmith for passing on the news that Ian Scott-Watson’s new book ‘Black Sheep in the Fast Lane’ has finally been published.
Ian Scott-Watson is known for setting Jim Clark on the path that led to his legendary career in motorsport. Jim features prominently in the book, which provides insights into his friendship, early motorsport career and time with the Border Reivers and Team Lotus.

Thanks to everyone who joined us this slightly soggy Sunday the 17th of July for our monthly Tyre Kick & Coffee at Gough Whitlam Park in Tempe.
We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with everyone and were pleased to see such a good turnout! These photos come thanks to Ashton.
The Tyre Kick & Coffee is a relaxed Club Lotus Australia event held on the third Sunday of each month at Gough Whitlam Park in Tempe. We kick off at around 9am and enjoy each other’s company over a morning coffee and some tyre kicking! The next Tyre Kick will be on Sunday the 21st of August – put it in the diary and come along!
Entries Open for VSCCA’s 40th Anniversary of All-Historic Racing
Entries for the VSCCA’s 40th Anniversary of All-Historic Racing race meet are now open.
To be held over the 17th and 18th of September, 2016, the 40th Anniversary of All-Historic Racing celebrates four decades of historic motorsport since the first race meeting at Amaroo Park for classic cars and bikes. It will be run under an AASA permit in Goulburn at Wakefield Park and is open to pre-1960 cars and bikes.
It’s a one-off meeting to celebrate the birth of historic racing in Australia and the friendships and great racing that have come out of it, and should be quite special. We are hoping to support the event by bringing on a good collection of period-appropriate Lotuses, so please do join us!
Entries are open now and the organisers are already receiving enquiries from all around Australia and from some very notable historic cars.

Enjoy these lovely photos from the Newcastle LOST Fraternity’s July 10 Sunday morning run.
The Newcastle LOST Fraternity was started a few years ago when a group of Newcastle Lotus owners realised that there was a healthy collection of Lotuses out and about in Newcastle. They started making contact with owners to bring everyone together, and had soon formed a fraternity of Lotus (and similar thoroughbreds) people.
They’re a relaxed crew who get together for social coffees and various runs, and just to enjoy their cars. If you’re based in Newcastle or are just interested in catching up with the guys, send me an email and I’ll put you in touch.
