The Newcastle MG Car Club regretfully announce the postponement of the CSCA Supersprint that was to be held at Pheasant Wood this Saturday, 17th June.

As your are probably aware, COVID is still a significant issue in the wider community.

With many of the entered competitors being from the Greater Sydney area it would be unfair to run it as a CSCA point scoring event if the current lockdown continues into this weekend.

Although the greater Sydney lockdown is scheduled to end at midnight Friday night, it does not look likely at this time. With case numbers increasing daily, and ever tightening restrictions, one can only expect that any restrictions this weekend would be even more onerous rather then being eased. This could possibly prevent us from running the event at all.

We have also considered the possibility that COVID could be transmitted by officials and entrants traveling long distances across the state and through the Greater Sydney area. Although all precautions would be taken, if anyone was to inadvertently spread the virus whilst attending the event or returning home the damage caused to the community would be immeasurable.

With this in mind, the Club has decided that the best course of action would be to postpone the event till a later date, yet to be decided. Any entrants will have their entry and any entry fees carried over to this later date, however a full refund of any entry fees will be made available if requested.
