This 1972 Elan +2S 130 Coupe is up for sale by club member David. Read on for the details.
For sale is my extensively restored 1972 Lotus Elan +2S 130. I imported the car from the UK in 2011, and then decided to conduct a complete nut and bolt restoration, which took some time. The body was stripped and painted by Axel Olleroch at VCDC in Rydalmere. The interior has been completely re trimmed.
The motor was rebuilt less than 1000km ago by Kelvin and his team at CDA Engineering in Dee Why. The original Dellorto carburettors have been completely rebuilt, and are included in the sale.
I fitted a competition (straight cut) gear box, which is excellent but a little noisy. I will include the original box in the sale.
I added Minilite wheels and the original wheels will also be included in the sale.
Having put an enormous amount of work and money into the restoration, I decided recently for health reasons to hand in my driving licence. So, I have had very little opportunity to drive the Elan as much as I hoped. It is beautiful, starts easily, and is a pleasure to drive and I would love it to be bought by someone who appreciates what a Lotus is all about, and who will enjoy the car more than I have been able to.
I have reduced the price to $50,000.
