Our South Australian contingent kicked off 2017 in the best way possible – in their Lotuses! Read on for the news and a few photos thanks to Andrew Stevens.
To usher in the new year, our South Australian brethren teamed up with the local Morgan Club for a Sunday Run to historic Strathalbyn.
While some wondered whether the 41 deg C would carry on to Sunday, the weather gods turned on a fantastic clear Adelaide summers day, with mild temperatures and just enough cloud to avoid sunburn for those with their roofs off. After a quick blast to Eagle On The Hill in recognition of the old AGP Climb to The Eagle events, we cruised gently through the Adelaide Hills towns of Stirling, Mylor, “hello Mr camouflaged speed camera”, Echunga, Meadows, and on to Jack’s Cafe at Strath.
The combined turnout filled the room at the back, and the conversation level made the serving staff’s job difficult. Always a good sign!
Ex-Morgan owner Derry Swan was in heaven, while Phil Moore brought his S2 Seven out for only its second Lotus run in 15 years (but who’s counting?). Pick of the Morgans was a beautiful blue V6 roadster, while the range of Lotus on display was more varied than usual. There was plenty of interest up and down the Main Street, and quite of few comparisons.
Our next run will be February 5th ahead of the All British Day on the 12th.
